Luminaria is proud to announce the Spring 2025 Working Artist Fund for Women sponsored by the Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation.
The Spring 2025 grant is for women only. The grant is a professional development micro-grant for individual artists living and working in Bexar County. Up to $550 may be requested once per year for activities that support artistic growth. Awards are provided for expenses such as workshops, travel, supplies & materials, rental expenses, equipment and more. Applications may combine more than one allowable item up to the $550 limit. New this year is a mentorship component where grantees will meet with established working artists. Tejano singer/songwriter and owner of Shellshock Records, Shelly Lares, will mentor the artists and speak to them about her long career in music.

San Antonio-based arts nonprofit organization, Luminaria is proud to announce the 2025 Luminaria Pop Up Art Gallery in a new location. The Luminaria Pop Up Art Gallery will premiere “Mujeres, Women’s History Month!” on Thursday, March 6 with the exciting new partnership at The Aiden San Antonio Riverwalk!
Welcoming Luminaria’s Fine Art Curator, Andrea V Rivas, the partnership kicks off with a Women’s History Month exhibition featuring local women artists including: Andrea V Rivas, Ashley Perez, Jacqueline Salgado, Julieta H. Ferrer, Manola & Maria Ramirez, Shelby Criswell, Suzy Gonzalez, January Ross, Gothic Western, and Red Rojas.
“Mujeres, Women’s History Month! is the most profound way to welcome a new partnership with The Aiden San Antonio Riverwalk.” says curator Andrea V Rivas. “Bringing the cultural and historic significance of our city’s strong feminine presence to the public and to the eyes of many who come to visit San Antonio for the first time.”
“Luminaria is excited to continue our Pop Up Art Gallery in a new and exciting venue,” said Yadhira Lozano, Luminaria Executive Director. “Partnering with The Aiden is another way to boost the local creative economy and bring local art to tourists where they stay.
“Bringing local art to The Aiden immerses our guests in San Antonio’s rich and vibrant culture,” said James Cantrell, General Manager, The Aiden San Antonio Riverwalk. “We welcome tourists and San Antonio locals to come and enjoy our colorful speakeasy, jazz club, and of course, the art.”
The Opening Night reception will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, 6:00-8:30pm. Visitors can also enjoy The Aiden’s speakeasy lounge No Vacancy featuring weekly jazz nights. The exhibition will be open free to the public 24 hours a day from March 6- 28, 2025. The Pop Up Gallery will rotate every month with openings on First Thursdays.
